Explorer Belt is an International Rover Challenge, in which you will definitely experience the teamwork and the ability of independent pilgrimage in unknown country.

The tradition of similar project has its roots particularly in Ireland, Great Britain or in Sweden and Junak – The Association of Scouts and Guides of the Czech Republic has successfully organised already two expeditions – to Estonia in autumn 2012 and to Romania in summer 2013.

The international groups of participants will be in contact with the local community during their pilgrimage in order to get to know not only the nature and monuments, but also to experience the culture, traditions and the reality of every-day life in Ukraine.

The aim of the project is not based on sport competition, but rather on experiencing different way of travelling abroad without support of the modern technologies.

Practical info

The project includes two parts: Preparatory meeting and the Pilgrimage in Ukraine. The participation at the Preparation meeting is a must, participants will get the practical info, meet everybody and form international teams of four-five people in which they will do the pilgrimage in Ukraine. (Participants from Ukraine do not have to participate in the preparatory meeting)

Participant's pro­file

  • 18 – 26 years old
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Physical ability to walk 15–20 kms a day
  • Be motivated to help the local community


Participants will get some information about their journeys during the preparatory meeting, but the detailed plan including all the tasks and route will not be given to participants till the arrival to Ukraine.
